I went to both Getty's this weekend. The villa and the other one. I liked the villa. But I was struck on how funny it was that that J. Paul Getty made his fortune in oil. Which is funny because even though the museums are free. They do charge for parking. And why not? Oil is part of cars. Which is part of parking. But what really struck me. Is that he made this money off the Middle East oil. So he could be one of the people responsible for all the problems in the Middle East. Some people in the Middle East got rich too. But it took companies with knowledge to get the oil out. So instead of building these museums with all this blood oil money. To show off artifacts which belong to the people of those countries they belong too. Send the money to help the poor people of the Middle East. Send their money back home. That way we can end all this hatred. All these wars. Because the truth is Getty made money off all of us car drivers. So we already paid for the right to see the museums. Free is not free.
