bay bridge

I saw a picture of the new Bay Bridge. And I realized they are putting bike lanes to the bridge. Which started me wondering if this whole expansion is just to have bike lanes. Which really pissed me off. When did bike riders bring money into the economy. They bring no money into the economy. No gas money. No taxes. No bridge tolls. Where is the money coming from? Is Lance Armstrong paying for this expansion? This is crazy. We are in a recession. We have no money to add bike lanes to the Bay Bridge. If bike riders want to cross the Bay Bridge they should have to pay a bridge toll like everybody else. Do not tell me these bike riders are getting a free ride. They do not get a free ride on Bart. Why should they get free ride on the Bay Bridge?
